Although the Springtime is usually the busiest time for Real Estate transactions, waiting to list may be a bad idea in this market.
Here are some reasons why you may want to consider selling now rather than waiting:
- While some analysts tout Spring as the best time of year to sell a house, these same analysts advise buyers to make an offer on homes in January and February. With lower inventories available, homebuyers looking for a deal in the cold of winter may find what they are looking for in your home.
- Inventory is already very low and with fewer homes hitting the market your home has an opportunity to shine. Lower inventory means less competition.
- Homebuyers care about finding the right home in the right place for the right price at the right time for them. The buyers who are actively looking in the fall and winter months tend to be pretty serious buyers. They are looking because they are in a situation that is time-sensitive and they are motivated to make a decision!
- Interest rates are very low, and they may start to tick up soon. There are more buyers that continue to look regardless of the season because they want to capitalize on the lower rates. They can also afford more house because of the effect of lower rates on their overall mortgage payment.
